Alocasia macrorrhiza Elephant ear grows well in big pots; they can thrive in the summertime and then be brought indoors in the winter. Fertilize once a month during spring and summer, growing season. Alocasias go dormant in winter and the leaves drop. Alsocasias are susceptible to spider mites, check the plant periodically.
The leaves are toxic to humans and animals.

– Allow the top two to three inches of soil to dry between watering. During the winter they go through a dormancy period and requires less frequent waterings.
