Eastern Bluestar is a 1-3 feet erect perennial forming large, multi-stemmed clumps. The narrow, oval leaves turn golden-yellow in the fall. Star-shaped blue tubular flowers appear in loosely congested clusters at the tips of the stems.  Attracts hummingbirds, hummingbird moths, and butterflies like Mourning Cloak. Prefers part shade and wet to moist, sandy soils.
