Late Purple Aster has showy, fragrant blue-purple blooms late summer through fall, blooming after most asters are finished and providing late season nectar to pollinators. It grows in well-drained sandy soil and prefers full sun, but tolerates some shade.  Attracts butterflies and bees. Its high drought and salt tolerance makes this aster welcome in any coastal garden.
