This non-native southern ornamental sports a lovely red flower that perpetually appears as if it is about to open fully but never does.  It’s a favorite of hummingbirds and other pollinators.
A great choice for South Georgia Gardeners. They start flowering in summer and bloom until frost, when their foliage dies back. Â In non-frost areas, they remain green year-round and are often found on old home sites, living for many years without attention.
